It was ironic really. Leaf bare was the hardest time for all of the clans, with starvation and disease running wild. Yet it was Whitestar's prime, where he was king of kings. His black and white pelt slipped through the shadows, glided over the glistening snow. Half and half, black and white, two opposites fighting for dominance over his pelt, just as they were in his heart. This was Whitestar's time. It was ironic that he was strongest and most at home, when everything else lay dead or dying.
The tuxedo tom slid around the edge of the Starlight pond, his dark eyes reflecting the dancing fire over the pond. The gold flecks in his eyes shone and did not seem so out of place, looking themselves like little fireflies, bottled behind his gaze. His clan was silent for now, almost empty in the driven leafbare. A heavy silence, with the forest smothered by heavy snow.
Stopping when he found a place that suited him, the large tom sat, a ghostly half-cat, only his white half truly visible in the night. The half moon shone down, illuminating that half of snowy fur, doing nothing to see the ebony. Moving a paw slowly, he flicked a rounded stone into the still water, the sudden movement sending the fireflies rocketing upwards, locked in their own choreographed dance. The ripples spread outward, causing the reflection of the moon to warp and Whitestar's own reflection with it.
Behind the mirror, the glass is broken. Why keep the mirror, if it's already shattered?

It was a long day for Dawnwhisper, she had gone on two boarder patrols and three hunting patrols. That was the most she ever did. Now it was her time to do whatever. She walked down the path to the Starlight pond, it was nice when the moon was shinning on it. A scent caught her attention Whitestar is out here she thought. A little smile came upon her face and faded quickly. When she reached her destination, Dawnwhisper saw the Thunderclan leader. So this is what you do in your spare time? She asked while walking over to him.

Whitestar's left out turned outward, the only physical sign that he had noticed the presence of another. This was merely a few seconds before Dawnwhisper made her appearance. The black and white tom swiveled his head, half of his face still smothered in shadow to face his clanmate and warrior. His eyes were sharp with attention yet decidedly bored at the same time, an interesting combination that took a certain level of skill to perfect.
Whitestar's feathered tail flicked slightly, at one point trailing over the water by accident then pulling back, a few drops of water chasing after it into the air. "Partially, when the mood takes my fancy, yes, this is one chosen spot that I spend my time." He murmured, not truly denying nor accepting her statement.
Dawnwhisper seemed more or less tired to the bone, and the tuxedo tom had in fact noticed her strong work ethic of late. He was pleased to at least have a few hard-working warriors when leaf-bare refused to take it's claws out of his territory. Life was getting harder as new-leaf stayed its hand and leaf-bare was not kept at bay. Every warrior helped, which was what he needed. "Any you, Dawnwhisper? What do you do in your spare time?"

The she-cat looked around and then back at her leader. It was hard to know that her mother was killed by her own father and that she was half Riverclan. She hated the fact but sometimes she would catch a fish and eat it. When Whitestar asked her what she did in her spare time, she had to think about it. Well if I want him then I have to tell him. she thought. Well she started to say and then stopped. Looking into Whitestar's eyes made it kind of easier to talk about stuff. I sit by the River and wonder why my father killed my mother. I know my father died in battle but im glad that he is gone. Only if I met my mother, she was probably a great Riverclan warrior. She said. There she said it, getting it off of her chest for once.

The river, interesting but not unexpected. He knew her past and to say it didn't interest him would be an understatement. She was Thunderclan now and well trusted, so her past and parentage were inconsequential.
The back and white tom watched her out of the corner of his eye, not turning to face the she-cat as yet. He had never personally met either of her parents so could not put her thoughts nor mind at ease, so he did not bother. Instead he turned back to a safer road of conversation. "How long have you been out here? I hope you've spent at least a portion of your time productively."

The warrior looked at him and sighed. It was hard for her to be here and not knowing what to do anymore. Sometimes she wanted to join her mother in StarClan. But was it worth it? Not really. She saw that Whitestar wasn't looking at her so she put her tail near his front paws. A slight purr rose from her throat and the pain was gone. Happiness was starting to come, was it because she was sitting next to her leader? For a while now. I just finished up hunting. I got a pheasant, and a couple mice. Don't worry, I put them in the fresh-kill pile. she said with a smile. So did you eat yet today? she asked him. If he says yes, i'll be happy and if he says no, then i'll tell him the nice plump juicy pheasant is his She thought.
